Buchan Kane & Foley was established in 1947. The current partners, Timothy Foley and Frank Foley, are committed to providing a high-quality architectural and Grade 1 Conservation service to their clients.
The practice has won a number of awards for their conservation projects including a RIAI Award and a Europa Nostra Award for its work in Kylemore Abbey, Connemara, where projects include the Memorial Church, Greenhouses, Forest Tearooms and the Walled Gardens

Buchan Kane and Foley is an architectural and heritage building consultancy, based in the heart of Dublin’s Georgian area. The practice delivers architectural and conservation services to private and public sector clients; it also prepares specialist conservation reports, and offers advice and expertise to construction professionals. BKF is an accredited RIAI Grade 1 Conservation Practice, with over 60 years experience throughout Ireland.
BKF Architects know how difficult it is to meet the needs of clients where historic buildings are involved. We specialise in understanding the requirements of local planners and conservation officers and work with them to find solutions and proposals which satisfy everyone. We have many years of experience of protected structures of all periods and how they have developed and why they are important. This appreciation helps us suggest ways of renewing, altering or extending the Protected Structure without compromising what makes it significant. As a RIAI Grade 1 Architect Accredited in Building Conservation, we are also able to work on projects which are grant funded.
